Lesson aim
What’s the role of the Monarchy? Does the UK have a Constitution? Can migrants vote? Am I entitled to benefits? In this lesson you will learn more about British politics, as well as social policies and the welfare state.
Lesson 1
To explain the structure of Parliament (including the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the Monarch), the role of Parliament and how it differs from that of the Government. To learn about democracy in the UK, including how general elections work and how governments are formed.
Lesson 2
Introduce numbers and letters. To learn about the benefit system in the UK, what are we entitled to? I can read a housing advertisement, and fill out a form, I can identify important information and fill it out correctly. I know where I live Students know what to do in an emergency.
